KINGS CROSS STEELERS AWARDED BEST LGBT SPORTS GROUP
The world's first gay rugby club, Kings Cross Steelers RFC, would like to thank the readers of the UK's Pink Paper, who voted for it to be the Best LGBT Sports Group 2011.
The committee of this pioneering sports club wants to thank all of the players, supporters and everyone who has ever helped us out over the last 15 years.
The Kings Cross Steelers Chairman, Tim Sullivan said:
"We are very proud to receive this award, especially in our 15th anniversary year. I just want to say congratulations to all those who set up the club in the early days and helped us go from strength to strength. This club survives on the generosity and dedication of its players, supporters and its organising committee.
"I want to thank all of those who have taken part in the past and present, which collectively has made the Kings Cross Steelers rugby club, the groundbreaking force that it is today.
"Finally, can I thank the readers of the Pink Paper for giving us this great honour. We are proud, happy and thrilled to be receiving this award."
