Welcome to the Kings Cross Steelers
Rugby Football Club.
2008/09 sees new challenges for the club. With the 1st XV having
secured its position in Essex 2, this year sees 4 new sides
join the division. The most interesting games will be against
our close friends East London RFC. Our 2nd XV will also be taking
on the East London 3rd XV in the BL Office Centre Merit Table,
so our loyal band of supporters can look forward to many more
home games at Memorial Park.
At the end of a packed season we also
look forward to welcoming teams from across the home nations
and continental Europe as we host the 3rd Union Cup in May 2009.
This unique tournament allows both experienced and newer teams
from across the European Union to play in competitive 15s and
7s games in one venue over the bank holiday weekend.
One of our strengths as a club is being able
to offer the game of rugby football to players of all different
levels of experience and ability. So whether you want to train
with us to get fit and develop your skills; whether you want
the weekly challenge of competitive league rugby; whether you
want to play more social games; or indeed if you just want to
watch some good rugby from the touchline; you'll find a welcome
at the Kings Cross Steelers.
We have twice weekly training sessions with
our coaching team set up to teach everyone from complete beginners
to our 1st XV regulars. Our Supporters Team allows our followers
to watch some of the best rugby in the South East. And when
we’re not playing hard, we party hard, our social calendar
is as packed as the playing schedule.
